Since it's founding in the mid fifties, Johanson Design has distinguished itself as one of Sweden's foremost manufacturers of modern furniture. Our style is characterized by designs with clean architectural lines, fine materials and craftsmanship and we have always believed in the power of thrift, honesty, and hard work. Today we are geared for the future with new attractive designs combined with the best of our classic models. We have always considered the environmental impact of our materials and processes and are continually searching for ways to reduce and recycle. In our efforts to be among the leading furniture manufacturers we take extraordinary measures to ensure that our worldwide customers receive consistently high-quality products and services. Johanson Design AB aims to use raw materials and methods of production that are entirely healthy for the environment and require the same of our sub-suppliers. All steel parts are recyclable. No tropical wood is used, only beech and birch. Before we finish the chrome/gold/lacquer all grease/oil is removed by alkaline wash and then sent for destruction. The lacquering is produced by electrostatic epoxy powder coating that gives a minimum of waste. The electrostatic chrome is recyclable. The limited numbers of plastic parts that are used are recyclable by grinding. All upholstery and frames of synthetic material are totally without any C.F.C. emissions. All glues are water based. Our Perstorp high pressure laminate tops can be burnt after use without any poisonous emissions. Only recyclable packing materials are used. We are members of Reparegistret AB who arrange collection and recycling of used packing materials.
