Born in the beginning of 90’s, Parri enter upon a way qualified by the innovation on materials, shapes and solutions for design seating and furniture, thanks to the experience collected during a century by the founding family, begin from the artisan and arrived to the industry many years ago through a uninterrupted development. The sector they initially advance toward is the one of contract and public areas, with items designed by Marco Maran, Art Director of the company.Chairs, tables and sofas, flexible on colours and finishes, influence the evolution of public space purely functional. The desire to smooth decorator plans strictly technical brings to a product able to satisfy requirements of public as well as residential areas: shapes with a strong feature, materials like hide leather, pony leather, fabric, wood finishes, and a large range of colour shades, create items where linearity, design and temperament blend together. Thanks to continuous investments in research and production development , to a strong tone in design and to a constant attention on quality of materials, Parri has an important know-how at disposal that enable the company to produce items of an absolute trend. For all that Parri emerge as a dynamic and competitive company, reference in Italy as well as in the world. Marco Maran was born in Siena in 1963. After leaving the Art School of Siena he vent to the Faculty of Architecture in Florence. His work with varius companies has gained him considerable recognition as a designer.He has taken part in many national and international exhibitions: 1996 and 2002 one-man exhibitions in Vienna and Paris respectively; 2002/2003 Italian Design On Tour ­ the selection, certification and promotion of the best Italian products ­ with the Ricciolina Chair; 2003 “Dove la sedia incontra la materia” organised by Material ConneXion Milano with the designs Zip and Carambola. His work has been rewarded with many international prizes and awards. Special mention at the 1994 Young & Design competition with the design Ciak. First prize at the 1995 Young & Design competition with the chair Sinué. Second prize at the 1996 Young & Design competition with the design Zip. 1997 Grandesign Internatonal Award with Chiacchiera. 1997 IIDA Prize in the Product Design Achievement Awards with the Scoop Chair. Special mention in the 1999 Young & design competition with the Bla Bla Bla armchair. In 2003 he won the Good Design Award of Chicago with the So Happy Chair. In 2005 he von the Catas award for the most innovative and reliable chair with the X3 chair. Various national and international publications have retraced his career. Important sets have been made to his designs, including the television studio of the France 98 World Football Championships.
